Health Economic Liaison Manager – South West

Due to the continued success of their commercial operation in the UK, they are creating a number of exciting opportunities within the Market Access Team and have a current requirement in South West and South Central.
As a Healthcare Economy Liaison Manager (HELM), you will take responsibility for Market Access work specifically focussing specifically on the Oncology portfolio. The major focus of this team is to deliver accelerated, optimal market access for new products within their respective health economies.

Your role will be to engage with key customers, NHS policy makers and NHS decision making processes in a timely and appropriate manner in order to facilitate optimal and accelerated market access. By systematically developing customer networks and local market access strategies from an early stage in a product’s lifecycle, you will ensure that you have the right clinical evidence, communicated to the right customer at the right time to deliver successful market access. This role demands personal flexibility and the ability to self direct when required to respond appropriately to the challenging and changing demands of the role.
Working across a number of products / indications at different stages of their lifecycle, you will demonstrate to NHS decision-makers how your products add value to the target patient population at a cost effective price.

Your suitability for the role will be defined by your proven track record of achieving success with NHS processes through a strong understanding of the changing NHS and its potential impact on business. This will have been gained in a similar HELM, Healthcare Development, Key Account Management or NHS Liaison type role from within the UK Pharmaceutical industry. Our client will also consider candidates who have worked at payor level in the NHS who are looking to move into the private sector.
An understanding of the NHS decision-making, funding and approval processes is vital along with the ability to create “win win” situations with your key customers through the development of joint agendas.

You will also be an innovative and creative thinker with the ability to understand complex business challenges. A willingness and aptitude to develop negotiation, project management and health outcomes skills are all prerequisites.
Whatever your background, you must have the maturity and integrity to deal on a partnership level with senior NHS customers.
