Our client is a leading therapeutics company in the biotechnology industry with a global turnover of $15 billion and 18,000 employees. Its high levels of R&D investment are evident with over 45 products currently in development with a focus on oncology, nephrology, bone, inflammation and metabolic disease.. They are a Fortune 500 company which has recently been voted one of the top 100 workplaces in the Times 2009. They aim to serve patients by transforming the promise of science and biotechnology into therapies that have the power to restore health.

I am recruiting for a Key Account Manager for the East Anglia region working within their oncology division. The role is 70% demand selling, 15% dealing with procurement and 15% PCT involvement.

The purpose of the role is to uncover and take responsibility for commercialising external business opportunities and minimising threats at a local level in line with company strategy.

The candidate that I am looking for will have:

  • Extensive experience of working the wider health economy, ie PCTs, SHAs and Cancer networks in order to make funding available for both new and existing products.
  • A minimum of two years hospital only experience and a proven track record within the secondary care environment.
  • Experience of working in a PCO environment.
  • Experience within oncology is desirable, but not essential.
